I am currently in the process of creating a video about health supplements when I came across your notice. I am an independent writer--not connected with any manufacturing company.

Prostate enlargement is part and parcel of the aging process. This begins in some degree in every male at age 21. Each year your muscles get a bit weaker your hair gets a bit thinner and your prostate gets a bit larger. After 20 years it is not surprising that the majority of men experience a restriction or urine flow. Therefore prevention is the best remedy. Once a problem is diagnosed, you are in fact attempting to reverse a process that has developed gradually for 20 years.

Nonetheless, several supplements are successful. In Europe, natural supplements are often accepted as more effective than drugs for the prostate, as well as being much cheaper and safer. The most medically proven is saw palmetto extract. This works by neutralizing the "dehydrotestosterone"--or that is to say, excessive male hormone testosterone, which is the cause of enlarged prostate. Saw palmetto will also prevent male pattern baldness and the tendency of elderly women to "grow a mustache"--all from the same cause.

To be effective, saw palmetto extracts must be STANDARDIZED. Read the label carefully. Numerous prostate formulas are not "standardized." So long as it is "standardized" there are any number of vitamin companies making "acceptable" grade formulas.

However, if you have an ongoing prostate problem, in my opinion you do not want to fool around with "acceptable" quality, nor do you want to limit the variety. There are in fact several natural remedies for enlarged prostate, and if you attack the problem from all angles, you will obviously have the best chance of success. Following is a list of products which I gave to a friend of mine with a prostate so enlarged that he was not getting enough sleep. He was "amazed" to achieve results within a few weeks, such as had never happened by seeing numerous doctors and "trying this and that."

1) Enzymatic Therapy Pro-50 (oils and glandulars) 2) Enzymatic Therapy Saw Palmetto Complex (saw palmetto mixed with pygeum and other effective remedies) 3) Enzymatic Therapy Super Saw Palmetto (pure, clinical-potency saw palmetto extract) 4) Enzymatic Therapy Pumpkin Seed extract (pumpkin seeds are one of the oldest and most often neglected prostate remedies) 5) Natureworks Small Flowered Willow caps (small flowered willow is a little-known herbal remedy that often works when saw palmetto fails) 6) Now Cranberry capsules (recent tests show that cranberry helps a bit) 7) Now Special Daily Capsules (a mild but potent multivitamin, strong in B-complex, to make sure all basic nutritional elements are present) 8) Alacer Super Gram II (the most complete vitamin C) 9) Mezotrace (natural calcium and magnesium--take one at bedtime to make sure all minerals are present.) 10) Futurebiotics Colon Green. (A mild fiber supplement and digestive aid. Take 1 per meal with vitamins.) 11) Mediterranean or Italian style green salad, with natural salad dressing and a dash of cold-pressed olive oil. Always eat as much salad as you can stand.

Start slowly if you are "not used to taking pills." Gradually add supplements one-by-one in minimal doses, then gradually increase the dose. Give it 3 months to really work. Then, if it does work, you can take them in rotation rather than all at once as a maintenance program. However, please remember that the problem will return worse than before unless you keep getting that prostate smaller.

In addition to the above, it is also good to add variety to the program by intermittently buying any prostate formula in your health food store that "looks a little different."

My friend, by the way, had very little money, so he took only 1 of each of the above pills per day, yet still got results. Please let me know if you also try this program.
